Rachel contacted me a couple weeks ago about some very special photos she wanted taken. The subject: her childhood home.
That’s really all I needed to know before I was hooked. She wanted photos of her mom, sister, and herself at the home she grew up in — before it was sold. With her mom moving and the two siblings out on their own, the time had come for their family to move away from the home. But first, while they were all back home and together for Thanksgiving, she wanted to take some photos as memories of the place to keep with her forever.
This is why I do what I do, folks. I’m a sucker for sentimentalism!
Anyway, enough of my blubbering. Take a look at some of my favorite frames from the day:
“It didn’t matter how big our house was; it mattered that there was love in it.”
Winter is officially taking over my blog today (much earlier than I’d like, to be honest.) But it’s here nonetheless! When Heather contacted me about their family session, I don’t even think there was talk of snow yet. But I met up with this wonderful family during the first real snow storm of the year, the girls guarding their curls with umbrellas, and the boys huddled around the fire, and we got some great wintry photos! Tim works with the NRA, so of course we needed to capture some photos with the family and their guns (I think they could tell I was nervous–they reassured me several times they were unloaded lol!)
The family incorporated a set of angels wings in honor of Heather’s daughter and the whole family wore their orange bracelets, keeping Kayla by their side through the entire session. I’m so thankful to have spent time with this wonderful family! Check out some wintry frames from last weekend:
Well hi there 🙂 So remember when I mentioned that my good friend Becca was in town this week? You can rest assured that we out and took pictures! It’s been warmer the past couple days (still below freezing, though, ugh) so it was much nicer to adventure through the streets of Fort Dodge than it could have been! Packed in, driving with Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons to keep us company, we hit the road and drove around town. Here are some of my absolute favorite frames:
I still cannot decide if I like this one better B&W or color:
There are plenty more photos from my week with Becca, so stay tuned for those over the weekend!
My good friend Becca is in town this week! I haven’t seen her in like a year, so it’s really wonderful to reconnect 🙂 She invited me over yesterday and we took some pictures out in the single-digit-degree-weather because we are insane.
And of course my camera was very attracted to her parent’s pets 😛
We warmed up for the night with some hot cocoa made by Sadie (Becca’s sister) 🙂
Hello all! Sorry for the large delay in blogging… I’ve been busy trying to continue settling into our new home, decorating for Christmas (we’re hosting this year! eeeee!), and getting client’s holiday orders all arranged, packaged, and sent out. It’s so SO good to see this much activity even in the “down season.” I am feeling the love, folks!
Shawn contacted me a couple weeks ago about setting up a session with her family, and at the time I was nervous about the weather. It’s been cold, snowy, and windy here but somehow we managed highs in the 40s with no wind that day! We got really lucky 🙂 The whole family was so sweet and lovely, it was just a really great time. Even their dog posed politely! Talk about awesome. Anyway, I’ll leave you with some frames from their session:Until next time, DFTBA!
