Our House

humboldt iowa family photos

Rachel contacted me a couple weeks ago about some very special photos she wanted taken. The subject: her childhood home.

That’s really all I needed to know before I was hooked. She wanted photos of her mom, sister, and herself at the home she grew up in — before it was sold. With her mom moving and the two siblings out on their own, the time had come for their family to move away from the home. But first, while they were all back home and together for Thanksgiving, she wanted to take some photos as memories of the place to keep with her forever.

This is why I do what I do, folks. I’m a sucker for sentimentalism!

Anyway, enough of my blubbering. Take a look at some of my favorite frames from the day:humboldt iowa winter family photos humboldt iowa winter family photos humboldt iowa winter family photos humboldt iowa winter family photos humboldt iowa winter family photos humboldt iowa winter family photos humboldt iowa winter family photos

kassie » class of 2015

seniors, fort dodge, humboldt, class of 2015, senior photos, portraits, iowaThis past weekend was the kickoff to senior season! The first few members of the class of 2015 graced my lenses with laughs and adventure. Kassie and I met up early with the hopes of beating the growing rain clouds, but let’s just say that didn’t really work out.

Yeah. It hailed on us.

Fortunately I was armed with a waterproof camera bag, and Kassie was armed with a sense of adventure. And hey, it makes for a good story.

This shot was taken literally seconds before the rain erupted all around us.

After taking cover under the trees (literally the only form of shelter around) I snapped this shot of Kass while we were hiding.seniors, fort dodge, humboldt, class of 2015, senior photos, portraits, iowaBut eventually the clouds let up, and we were able to carry on with her senior experience like normal. Or as “normal” as senior sessions can be. Never a dull moment!

Check out some gorgeous frames from the rest of our time together:

stella » 6.months.old

You may remember a few months ago when I had the pleasure of capturing Stella’s 3-month photos. I have the amazing chance to capture her 3-, 6-, and 9-month photos and see her growing up!

amanda.matilda.photography » fort dodge iowa baby photographer

Like we did in January, I packed up one of my suitcase props, and a giant frame (frame photos will probably be in a future post) for Stella’s session this weekend. It was nice not having to fight the cold Iowa winters for this much more spring-like day! I wasn’t the only happy and excited…Stella was all smiles for our time together. 🙂amanda.matilda.photography » fort dodge iowa baby photographer amanda.matilda.photography » fort dodge iowa baby photographer amanda.matilda.photography » fort dodge iowa baby photographeramanda.matilda.photography » fort dodge iowa baby photographer amanda.matilda.photography » fort dodge iowa baby photographer amanda.matilda.photography » fort dodge iowa baby photographer amanda.matilda.photography » fort dodge iowa baby photographerThis last photo is special to me because the little blanket was made for me by one of my best friends, Becca. It’s so soft and furry, it worked so well with Stella’s feathers and beads!

Keep an eye out for my next installment from Stella’s session as I continue to work my way through all this cuteness 🙂
