I spent this weekend baking loads of holiday goodies, and let me tell you I’m pretty proud of myself! I tried mostly new recipes (with some old classics), so seeing them turn out so well was really great 🙂  I saw this recipe on pinterest and thought that I could adapt it into a Christmas cookie variation, and I think it worked really well!  Rather than dividing the dough into four or five different bowls and colors, I split it in two — red and green.

pinwheel christmas cookiesI rolled out the two colors into the grape-sized balls as suggested, and put them onto trays so I could make sure I got the same number of green and red.

I found after the first couple of cookies I tried that they were a little too warm/runny, so I stuck the trays in the freezer for a quick chill and set-up.  That helped remarkably. I suggest it.

Next, since I didn’t have four or five different colors I picked two balls of red and two balls of green to form the larger ball.pinwheel christmas cookies

I rolled that out and spun it into a spiral like the recipe ordered, and rolled the edges in sprinkles.

After baking for 10 minutes at 350 degrees, they cooled and are delicious!  They did spread out quite a bit, so I recommend leaving plenty of space.  I’m not enough of a baking expert to know how to rectify that, but I’m sure there’s probably a way.

Questions and booking information:

Hey folks! Today I wanted to talk a little bit more in-depth about my Holiday Sessions.  As previously mentioned, I am offering Holiday Sessions this year, starting at $100!

I know this time of year gets so super busy, it’s very easy to lose track of things and put them off until the last minute. That’s why I wanted to offer a set of sessions that were affordable, quick, and all-inclusive.  The sessions are only an hour long, and each package option features a large print for your wall, as well as a set of Holiday Cards made from your photo(s)!  All for one low price. So there’s no excuse to say you don’t have time or you just forgot!  Call, text, message, or email me asap and I will take care of everything. Check that off your holiday to-do list 😉

Aaaand, in case you’re curious, here’s a gallery of holiday card designs that I offer!  Each one is customizable to your needs 🙂

Friends, the holidays are all about sharing and cherishing the love in our lives. Let me help you capture the memory of the season and share it with your loved ones.

If you want more information, or if you’re interested in setting up a session, contact me today!

holiday special

Hey folks!  As the leaves keep getting more and more color in them, and the wind gets chillier and chillier, the stores get more and more red and green in them!

It’s about that time of year again to think about Christmas cards!

This year I thought I’d try something a little different. Instead of just offering a discount on existing sessions, I’m offering special Holiday Sessions.

Each Holiday Session will include up to one hour of coverage, as well as prints and Holiday cards!  I’ve got three options for sessions:

Elf’s Package:
(1) 8×10 print

Rudolph’s Package:
(1) 8×10 print
(100) Holiday Cards
»» $125

Santa’s Package:
(1) 11×14 print
(100) Holiday Cards
»» $140

So I haven’t been posting lately for the simple fact that I haven’t had anything to post.

My family sessions I’ve scheduled have all cancelled at the last minute.

My wedding expo got postponed for a couple months.

And I’ve been working extra hours in the book store.

BUT! the holidays are upon us, and the first snowfall came yesterday, so I’m going to have some photogenic moments to share with you all 🙂
